A limerick for my Father.
January 14th, 2010
My dad is a nice guy named Barry
whose chin and cheeks have grown quite hairy.
The beard is short and normal in size,
but quite hard on my poor eyes.
I hope for a visit from the razor fairy!

ps. My dad’s name is not really Barry.
pps. Everyone hates the beard
ppps. he does not seem to care
pppps. Okay, I really don’t hate the beard, it is better than the handlebar mustache, but not as nice as his nice smooth cheeks.

The beard and hat make him look kind of like an older fisherman. I enjoy the novelty of it, but agree that smooth cheeks are often more nice since they don’t scratch when you hug him.
Not when I hug your dad… but .. you know… just in general.
Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do and enjoy it…especially when you’re Barry (and mine and FFiL’s) age ’cause you’ve EARNED it!
Seems as though this man has aged 20 years in less than 20 weeks. I miss his face.
I like the beard.
I like the beard…it adds character! It could just be that I’m so used to my brother’s beard that beards no longer bother me. I think he’s rocking the bearded look! Though I have to say the beard takes away the “nerdy” charm I had grown to love.
ShoeShe…I think he looks more professorial now, don’t you? All he needs is a tweed jacket with leather elbow patches and an (empty) meerschaum pipe to finish the look.
Please don’t encourage him! Yuck!
MMIL…I totally agree!!! He could totally pass for an English professor!
