Finally!

We have this really long and wide mantle in our living room on which I keep pictures of our immediate family. I love it, they are one of my favorite parts of our house. My problem? The picture of my darling in-laws was fifteen years old. It was not even a great picture then, and yet it stayed in its silver frame right next to BiL because we could not NOT have them up there. For my Thanksgiving post I had to crop my baby’s head out of the picture!
I decided enough was enough and bossily demanded a photo session on Thanksgiving.
MMiL? I know that today is your birthday, but having lovely pictures of you was such a gift to me. Thank you and Happy Birthday! The top one is getting printed and put on the mantle ASAP.

You’re forgiven for posting these pics only because you took such great ones! (fyi to those who don’t know me: I inherited my aversion to cameras from my mother which explains why I’m almost always behind one rather than in front of it.)
It’s been a good birthday…I am so lucky to have the loving family and friends that I have. In the words of a little boy in a fictional novel, “God bless us everyone.”
Aww…I love the bottom one. It reminds me of the one of my parents I’m posting on ShoeShe today.
Most of my friends from high school…well there’s just no other way to say it…their parents are no longer together. I think it is great that in a world where problematic relationships are the norm here we are…a group of adults whose parents are all still together thriving as couples…as examples of what great relationships look like…and as inspiration to our generation.
And I’m glad you had a great birthday!

I hate to interrupt this awesome post but I have an important bulletin!
I just found out that the outgoing mailbox at our apartment complex got broken into. If you did not receive your shower thank you card or your Christmas card, please let me know. I actually sent them. With stamps and everything!
7day, You have mailed your christmas cards already? WOW, you are on top of things. No, we have not received any mail from you yet…..sorry! Also, some of us still check your blog everyday you know….
Well, you see, I always forget to send cards every year. I buy them. I write in them. Then they sit on the counter until May or so…
I got a jump on it this year! just in time for them to be stolen…
Sadly, they were all handmade and really awesome.
I know I’ve been really bad about updating my blog this last month, but I was trying to get my NaNo finished so that I could get it published
I won NaNo and just have to finish a few things before it’s ready to be edited….
