I don't have any answers, only questions of my own. Like when do you want me to take you grocery shopping since you can't drive? Why can't you write a post every day always? What's the December masthead look like?

I just assumed you had seen an ENT physician rather than urgent care. I urge you to see an ENT physician to make sure that the perforation closes on its own. Steroids is a pretty common treatment for ear infections. I had one sophomore year in college that was pretty bad. Didn't perf the tm but did make me pretty dizzy/imbalanced. The student health center treated me with both steroids AND antibiotics. So again, my official stance is get thee to an ENT physician as soon as you can.

1. I have another friend who buys a Visa giftcard at Wal-Mart, then shops for her husband with that. It limits how much you spend...and it is a secret as long as you hide the receipts and the gifts where he can't find them.

2. No experience here...sorry!

3. YES! It is thrilling to beat out thousands of ill-prepared shoppers for the $250 LCD HDTV. My mom and I have done Black Friday shopping together for the past 10-15 years. We go out at 3 or 4 a.m. and enjoy breakfast together once we've hit all our major spots. Then we go to other places where we don't really have anything to fight for.

4. I hear you, but I have no help for you. I hope you feel better soon!

5. I'll check with Ernie. He has a photography website, and he teaches peoe how to do photojournalism.

6. I heard from some coworkers that it wasn't a good pick for children under about 5. One coworker took his very sporty and tough 4 and 3 year old boys to see it, and both boys cried and didn't enjoy it.

7. Yes! I make sure all of the hooks are taken care of before throwing them in the washer (and again before throwing them into the dryer). I admit that I have a few bras that I don't do this with, because they were so expensive. With those, I follow traditional advice...hand wash/air dry.

8. I go the uncaring route. I keep all the Christmas cards from the previous year, and I only send cards to the people I received them from...and maybe a few extras.

9. I think that perhaps daycare has something to do with it...and older siblings. My brother was obsessed with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Ghostbusters and SPORTS at 3, and he was only introduced to sports at home. Everything else was purely social. Then, I enjoyed TMNT cartoon because I liked April's job, so I began watching that on Saturday mornings.

Where The Wild Things Are was a great movie, but a huge departure from the book and, I think, inappropriate for a three-year-old.

There were kids in the audience when we saw it, and they all seemed to like it, but there was a good bit of violence and miscellaneous misbehavior. I don't think 'scary' is the problem so much as 'trouble, trouble, trouble'.

Dr. Ang-- one was just "bulge-y" the other had a "slight perforation". No fever, just pain in ear and WAAY dizzy. Urgent care gave me steroids only and told me to also take Claritin and chew lots of gum? Wth? Second opinion please? I had two ruptured ear drums as a teen and was much, much sicker and in way more pain than this, but do not remember this much dizzyness (but did not have 3yr old to chase and could not drive so ya know grain of salt.)

NO ONE drys their bras? Man.

I was hoping for a first person account of Where the Wild things are. Why would they make a movie about a children's book not for children?

1. We have a certain amount of money earmarked specifically for Christmas for each other, so we each just spend up to that amount and no more. Granted, this is only the second year we're putting that into effect, but it worked last year.

2. We just... did it. One night we ran out of PUll-Ups, told my daughter she was wearing big girl underpants and needed to keep them dry all night. We let her go potty before she went to bed and woke her up to go before we went to bed, for about a week. She's only ever had 2 accidents in the three years she's been potty trained, but I have NO clue if that works with every child. I'm thinking not.

3. NO!

4, 5, 6: No clue.n (But hope it feels better soon.)

7. Never. I wash them in a garment bag with my regular clothes but always hang them to dry. Both regular and sports bras.

8. I bought 100 cards this year. I'll probably send them all out. Yes, it's expensive, but apparently we know a lot of people.

9. Ack! Bug only knows who "Lunch Bob" is (and that's only because his sister sneaks it on TV sometimes when I'm cooking dinner and am preoccupied). He's much more interested in Princesses and The Sound of Music. :-) At least for now.

Gosh, let's see how I can help. I don't balance the checkbook so any gift from my hubby is a surprise. But we don't do surprises, nor do we really do gifts except for birthdays. Number 2, no idea...Black Friday is NEVER worth it, absolutely NOT, which leads me to number 4. It depends on how bad the infection was. If it indeed burst your eardrums then it may still be a week or two before you are feeling better. Just cross your fingers that it heals on its own. Number 5, wrong person answering your question...I know people who saw that movie and wouldn't consider it appropriate for anyone under the age of 6 or 7. The movie really wasn't made for children AT ALL. Never never never put bras in the dryer, and I only give Xmas cards to close family. Not really sure about number 9. Nor am I sure any of this was even helpful.
