Our Faith, our Hope, and our Honor
July 3rd, 2009
Written in pencil on the back of this photograph it says it is my great-grandparents, and my grandfather celebrating Independence Day 1929. I hope you spend your fourth with people you love, blessing God for America, since he has so blessed us.

Our hearts where they rocked our cradle,
Our love where we spent our toil,
And our faith, and our hope, and our honor,
We pledge to our native soil.
God gave all men all earth to love,
But since our hearts are small,
Ordained for each one spot should prove
Beloved over all.

This is one of my favorite old, family photographs. Unfortunately I never met Hey You’s Greatgrandfather. But, all that I hear makes me know I would have loved him, just as I did his wife and his son.
The area where this was taken is where we have just traveled to. It is truly a beautiful part of this great land which I am most thankful to live in.
Happy fourth of July.
Beautiful poem… after seeing this pic.. felt like my life is rewinded for few mins.
Thanks
