It can be particularly hard for a church who grows to love a pastor over a significant stretch of time. Our old, old guy had been at our church for 14 years when the new guy came in. I don't think the new guy could have done anything right! Make sure you stay open to the positives the new guy can offer. We didn't...though we now have a new, new guy we LOVE!!! So, things have a way of working out. Churches go through change and come out even stronger. I'll keep praying for you guys in this time of change.

Absolutely, send the link.

I agree that this is kind of like one of our many inter-state moves. I am filled with excitement at the prospect of what blessings God has in store for us with this reassignment. Yet, I'll miss my dear friend who is moving away and has played an important role in my spiritual growth these past seven years.

The reassignment would not have been made without much prayer for God's guidance in the decisions. Let's continue to pray for all three of these churches and the humble shepherds who willingly go where they are sent trusting God and a congregation they don't know for their sustenance. Then let us wait patiently for the blessings God has in store for each of us and are yet to be revealed.

In the meantime let's not be idle but continue to do God's work with as much zeal as we can muster.
