We are definitely witnessing a battle of the wills right now. Hopefully it won't last long, but in the meantime, what a wonderful imagination we are seeing as well.

This weekend, he said to me several times, "I don't want a time out." I am Completely being honest when I say that there was only one time when his behavior warranted even a warning of time out and that was when he deliberately ran down the rocky hill without holding the prescribed Gigi hand (a necessary but fun Gigi safety rule for that 31-month-old Whirlwind). That violation was handled by making him climb back up the hill, listen as I gave him the dreaded "Gigi/Mama talk' and then "made" him run down the hill holding my hand. The rule violation never happened again...if it had, I would have had to figure out exactly which chair to make the TimeOut Chair....knowing full well he would never choose to casually sit in it ever again!!

See, Mom? I can too follow those "TheSon rules" even when you're not looking!
