It would be unusual at best if I had wished you a happy birthday ON TIME for your birthday, because I am always late...you, of all people, should realize this.

So...happy birthday!

This would have been so much easier if there were pictures of your lovely grandson, because I tend to do better when given a broad topic I can bounce off of.

Lacking that broad topic, I will simply say this: If my mom wasn't my mom, I'd hope my mom was you.

You did an amazing job with both your children! Both are the perfect mix of independence and relience on others. Both are kind, caring, generous, polite and genuine...with a touch of snarky sarcasm thrown in for good measure. Not many people achieve the perfect mix.

I will also say that there is no way I could have imagined Hey You's dream wedding and pulled it off in three feet of mud. You may have some broken plates, but you take those and create a beautiful mosaic from the pieces.

I am a better person for having spent time with you and your family. Hopefully the same can be said of me.

So, happy birthday to one of the best moms in the world (I can't very well say best, because that title is reserved for my crazy mom)! And may you have many more blessings in the years to come!

Wow....didn't realize there was a post for you birthday on the blog grammy.

I do hope that you had a happy birthday...even if the last 10 miles home did take over 2 hours.

I am so glad that you are Hey You's mother, I don't think she'd be half the woman she is today without your loving guidance throughout her life.

We ALL love you very much over here at Huckablog central.

It still made me cry. Thanks for your words, Hey You. However, regarding the plate spinning thing. I don't have to tell you, for you already know, I have lots of broken plates on the floor myself.

Trip was indeed not a farewell tour. Or at least we hope not. They did, however, enjoy seeing siblings, etc., that they were unsure they'd ever see again. Hopefully we can do it again for others in a few months.

Dogs slept at own house last night and I got to see the precious Huckablog family and talk to many well wishers, including my dear JHJ, yesterday. It was a good day in spite difficult traveling conditions for the last leg of trip.
