MMIL, after he snored, did you? If so, I'll bet he yelled, "WAKE UP, GIGI, WAKE UP!" I love it! When we got home from NC he was all about Grandpa. I didn't even get a kiss from him.

Okay....New Moon has worn thin. Jacob's okay, but the premise is well...you'll see when you read it. Guess I'm not as into this teen-angst quadrilogy as I first thought I would be.

Well, yes, technically that is what kept George from "getting out" of Bedford Falls...obligation to his family. However, I was thinking a little more specifically of Wainwright and his offer to George for him to "get in the ground floor of plastics" (which did make whaz-is-name Wainwright a wealthy man--HeeHaw--). And, rather than continue the Wonderful life trivial pursuit any longer, the much-avoided-but-inevitable kissing of Mary made George drop the phone call and the rest "was history" (or not, once Clarence showed up).

I know the whole thing almost by heart even if I haven't watched it yet tis year; guess that comes from those years of sharing its priceless life lessons with my 7th graders....6 periods a day!!

Grammy, it was a wonderful birthday. TheSon, in a lull in the circus action leaned over toward me, said, "TheSon Asleep..." closed his eyes and started fake snoring VERY LOUDLY. It was the best part of the entire night.

Hope your Birthday this weekend is every bit as fun and precious, Grammy.

I'll "see" you ladies later...got to go get a few chapters of New Moon in before bedtime.

Boy, I get busy for a few days and miss all this fun. IAWL is one of my favorites too. This made me want to watch it again. Maybe I'll put it in while I decorate this afternoon.

I hope your birthday was a happy one MMIL. And, have a nice time at the circus with the rest of the Huckablogs to celebrate it this weekend.

As for the book club? I am so out of touch, I've not read a novel of any type for a very long time. I'd like to read Wicked, as in truth, once several years ago I found that book in our house (belonged to JHJ) and I took it to the used book store to sell without even looking at it or knowing it was a best seller. Of course, he was angry at me for selling his book. Come to think of it, I may be getting a reputation for that. You may recall I sold Hey You's library book, The Grapes of Wrath, at the spring garage sale.

Regardless, perhaps it time I struck balance and found time for some leisure reading. A book club might be just the nudge I need.

MMIL...

The reason George called her brainless was because of the exotic places that coconuts came from (like Fiji I think) and that if the National Geographic Society liked coconuts, then anyone with a brain should, because only smart people are in NGS...something like that!

As for the other George question...

George had grand dreams for what to do after high school that included exploring and getting out of Bedford Falls, but a family emergency forced him to do some soul searching. He wound up taking over his father's Savings & Loan, and felt trapped by the responsibility of shouldering his family's business.

As for why: He probably did it some out of obligation to his family or because he felt like he had to, but he also didn't want Mr. Potter (the wealthy town schemer) to take it over.

As for an online book club, I think it's a marvelous idea!!!

And, I've already noted how marvelous I think The Son and his mother (and let's not forget his father) are, but just for kicks and grins, I'll say it again: There are no words to express how truly awesome the Huckablog family is. They are full of love and life, which is evident in how kind and explorative The Son is at such an early age...a true gift!

Oh, and there's no way I could compete with MMIL and ShoeShe on the IAWL trivia. I can't even tell you the last time I saw the movie all the way through.

MMIL, I think you must have some sort of ESP going on. I was just thinking last night that an online book club would be an interesting idea. I saw the twilight movie before I read the book, so the book was kind of slow-going for me since I already knew what would happen. However, I read new moon in 3 days, and I'm halfway through eclipse.

ShoeShe...without looking....what decision did George make that kept him from becoming wealthy and why did he make that decision?

That's the last question...otherwise, I think HeyYou may scalp me. But, since it was my birthday post, I decided to push my luck a little bit.

Now...everyone that has viewed the pics of this child, tell me how wonderfully marvelous you think he (and his mom) is.

Well, actually she hates....coco nutS! Another question...why does he think she's brainless for not liking coco nuts?

As for the Bert and Ernie...I really don't think it could have been coincidence. I believe that the names were kicking around in Henson's sub-conscious memory. No matter what Henson ever said (or believed himself), I will never be convinced otherwise.
