I'm still struggling with this new name. It doesn't fit with your past names. I looked over your list again, and one of your ideas was turtledove. Dovey, for short, would be cute. Or, MMIL's Doodlebug (Doodles for short) would also be cute.

MMIL is so right. Between the two families and two generations I can quickly total up 8 rescued dogs. In our home we have a long tradition of keeping most of the dogs that come to us for life with only two exceptions in the past 34 years. Of the several we've had, only one was purchased. Rescued pups make great pets.

Welcome Ellie!

PS I do hope you hurry along the house breaking to make dog sitting easier.

Back to the dog...she just does not realize how lucky she is. Based on family history, both sides, there is no way Ellie-May (I think she probably more resembles a Doodlebug right now) is going anywhere except a better home. I find it hard to believe there is such a place, but it's possible.

Anyway, in TheHusband's familial history is a long string of rescued dogs and cats. We brag on having never bought a pet...but we sure have paid through the nose for each and everyone. Take for example, Marlee...the thrown-away, deaf, half-dalmation...we don't really want to keep her, but we've spent at least $1,000 on her between vet bills, spaying, radio fence for stubborn dogs (HA! She speeds across that thing like the Flash!).

So, don't expect him to kick Ellie-Mae into the cold, cruel winter wind. Besides, I fell in love with her the instant she crawled into my lap, put her head on my shoulder and promptly fell asleep, so she would be welcome here (well, Pappaw keeps shaking his head no but...."anyway!").

Lucky dog, Ellie Mae....welcome to the rescued-from-certain-death Dog Family!

but I said I do NOT want you to stop posting, I just want you to stop using The Husband's real name so he does not make me stop comments. How would you feel if I never posted on your site? I would be sad. You do not want me to be sad right?

No, Cat. You can't stop commenting. It's like a sick communication form. I get excited when I see your comments on the Huckablog and on ShoeShe. You just have to get the lingo right. We are Hey You Huckablog, ShoeShe and CaTark. Our families are whatever we choose to call them...some of which are far more cryptic than others.

Tell The Husband he has had an impact on many of my posts on ShoeShe as well, because I have to edit myself before I post and make sure I'm not using any names that might keep you guys from being anonymous.

By the way...did you like the ever-so-cryptic _SU in my earlier comments?
