Just in case you were wondering who we voted for.

November 4th, 2008

Updated 10:34 pm: There are a lot of things that make a person tacky.  One of the worst? Being a sore loser.  You have not heard me say I would move to Canada if Obama won, you have not heard me say our country is doomed.  Did my guy win? No, but my country has not lost.  I have faith in the checks and balances our forefathers had the insight to put into place.  I have faith this is, and will remain the country I am proud to call my own.   Congratulations to my Democratic friends, and family (that would be you, JHJ, you are the only one).  My prayers have been for God’s will in our nation, and I have to believe He will use the changes that are happening for his purposes.

Those are cute, but my favorite political shirt ever had a picture of a donkey on it and said:

“The ass you save just might be your own.”

    I’m glad you voted.

I have to disagree with my wonderful wife. I think we’ve just started down the path to european socialism and it will be incredibly hard to back pedal in the future.

I might be wrong, I pray that I am….only time will tell.

“If a man is not a socialist in his youth, he has no heart. If he is
not a conservative by the time he is 30 he has no head” — Georges
    Clemenceau, Former French Prime Minister

And I love you for your level head.

I live in a very racist community, and am so sick of all the racial tension and ridiculous comments. Someone actually said that if Obama was elected, he would mandate boom box volumes in vehicles and car seats in reclined positions. How crazy is that?

But mostly I’m just sick of all the lies and am happy that the attack ads are over for at least four years.

My OCD had kicked in. Glad to get back to my life. I pray for president elect Barack Obama and his administration. I also pray for our country and world, that we can now solve some very serious issues that can no longer be shelved.

Oh, BTW, JHJ is not the only family member to vote democratic. Hey You’s entire maternal family, with the exception of me, votes democratic across the line.

    I love TheHusband’s quote above.

Oh, I forgot to add my thoughts re: God’s using this for good. I’m not certain I believe in God’s will. I believe He has a plan, but, He gave us free will. He’ll just use whatever path we take for his purposes. Kind of like a road map with many different directions to arrive at the same destination.

All things work together for good for those who love the Lord… Romans 8:28

I pray that our country will remember the God that our country was founded on and not further compromise on this most important foundation.

My passions have worn me out these past many months. Nope, neither candidate was “my guy” and nope, Hillary wasn’t “my guy” either. In fact, I don’t know that either party had anyone vying for the job who was truly “my guy”–of the two choices I would have most preferred, one chose to not pursue the position and the other is long dead.

I, along with Grammy, believe that God does not use His Will to cause us to check a particular box or to act a particular way. I also believe that we as a nation have some tough consequences to face due to our indulgent choices in the past. I can only pray that He will be merciful to this nation and that the leadership will seek His Voice as they attempt to move us through the hard times ahead.

I think I’m going to scroll back up to the hard-hat baby so I can end with a smile and happy thoughts. You should too!
