I confess I had sticker shock. Though I usually get to our county fair every year to walk through the livestock barns and see the craft and food entries, its been a while since I purchased tickets for rides. Ouch!

The Son was delightful and true to himself, he liked the race cars best, which he rode with Grandpa. In fact, he liked them so well, they rode them together again last night, when we went back to see the animals. Oh, he didn't like the pigs.

OMG!! ShoeShe!! I can't believe you've never played the mouse game!! At every fair I've ever been to, it has been a mouse and not a rat. Rats are gross and would probably put people off. That has been my favorite game at the fair since I was a little kid. It only takes a quarter, and if you pick the right color then you get to win a prize.

The mouse game, darts, pick-up ducks, and the water gun games are the ones that I like to play the best. I haven't been to the fair in a long long time because it costs to get in, the food is expensive (not to mention bad for you...I mean, how many things can you shove a stick into and deep fat fry??), the rides are expensive, and the games are expensive (not to mention many of them are rigged). I guess I'm just jaded. I'd rather spend one flat fee and go to an amusement park where I can ride all the rides I want, but that's just me.

And on a side note that has nothing to do with this post or my previous comment:

It is amazing to me how many people are finding ShoeShe on accident while doing google searches for lots of different things.

Peruvian lily, sweater vests, celeb vest, camp and 80s toys seem to be the most prevalent search engine terms thus far.

I'm so glad The Son inherited the "I can ride anything" gene from his mommy! Amusement parks are going to be so much fun with that little guy.

I'm jealous. My mom never let me play the carnival games at the fair. I always wanted to win the Asian-looking Winnie the Pooh, but to no avail!

This year our county fair has a game where you pick a color, then the carny spins a LIVE rat to make it dizzy, finally releasing the rat. Whatever color the dizzy rat runs to when released wins. How sick is that?

By the way...yes. I have written posts that I thought were amazing...and then nobody commented...it even happened this week.
