LOL! Joe and I giggled uncontrollably when we read this. Growing up in the country, I was always well aware of where my food was coming from. My aunt once had a pig named Pork Chop, and Joe's cousins once had a cow named Hamburger. I also have a cousin who has been a vegetarian ever since she learned where meat comes from (around age 2-3).

Well sounds like your kid is at least compassionate. My youngest sees animals like fish or chicken and then tells you how hungry he is for such animal.

Based upon his discussion with Hey You on Sunday night when we ate fish for our Sunday night dinner, it seemed as though he was beginning to put together the fact that some of the things he is beginning to identify (fish, chicken, etc.) are in our food chain. I'm sure we must have dealt with this once upon a time, but I surely don't recall it. I stand amazed that he is gaining understanding at two years old.
