If you must choose unhealthy-ish things, make them at least be the most healthy option of unhealthy-ish things...like Ben & Jerry's Lowfat FroYo version of Cherry Garcia (it really is yummy), or Sierra Mist Free Undercover Orange (lemony-limey-orangey goodness that tastes like a summer drink at the beach).

I keep cut and washed celery, tomatoes and carrots on the most prominent shelf in the fridge. That way, when I'm hungry, I naturally reach for the closest thing available and wind up with a healthy snack.

Allow a couple of cheats a week. I cheat in moderation, because there are some things that just taste so good that they can almost make you feel good. But, cheat sparingly.

Find something active to do that doesn't require a support system. I've started riding my bike with headphones. I'm sure people I pass think I'm nuts because sometimes I'm singing 80s songs at the top of my lungs. But, it's fun and good for me. Kharma kharma kharma kharma kharma chameleon you come and go, you come and go...We built this city, we built this city, we built this city on rock and roll...867-5309...Our house is a very, very, very fine house...

You get the picture.

As of week 4, I've lost a total of 23 pounds. I leave on a mission trip on July 10, so we'll see how I hold up.

I think that the people that are visiting us are just trying their damndest to win the Zune you promised.

No holds barred cage match to the end.

Perhaps we should have added a rule:

1. You may not bribe contestants with food.

Hey I am right there with you. I know that when I exercise and eat right and lose weight I feel so much better, but I still seem to pick up the cookie dough ice cream at the store or get the Dr. Peppers because they are on sale. I have a very nice air conditioned place to at least walk and yet I may do that 1 day of the week. I see what I look like and I know what I feel like.

This week though I had the stomach things that seems to be going around, so with that and the 4 days in the hot sun doing mission work and the ten hours at six flags I have sweated, painted, thrown up, and pooped my way into a smaller size. Okay the painting and six flags wasn't so bad, the throwing up and pooping part I can do without.

Cheer up, the good thing about messing up today is that you still have tommorrow..Was that cheesy enough for you?
