Toady McGuire
April 24th, 2008
There is a new member of thehuckablog household!

The Son and I caught him at The In-Law’s house Tuesday night, and no worries, we are planning on letting him free in about a week and a half. In the mean time, does anyone know how to keep a toad alive? Should I like give him bugs and stuff? We are also open to any inspired name choices. The Son wants to name him Fog! Fog! I want to name him Toady McGuire. The Husband wants to name him “Whatever, you are handling this.”

I’ve had toads before and have known people who have had several toads for a few years. Buy some crickets from the pet store for it, it will like catching them. It will also eat grubs and some fruit and veggies. Make sure it has direct sunlight or some kind of warmth. Potting soil or dirt from outside is good to have and a nice size of water for it as well.
Names, I am not good at naming animals
Kermit is a bit overdone, but it’s still cute. Greenback (for the economy conscious pet owner) might work. I think Toady McGuire is cute too, but “Fog Fog” is just precious! I personally can’t see you (Hey You) catching a frog. I think having a boy child has been good for you.
ShoeShe is right!! Having a boy has been great for you, though I still can’t imagine you catching a toad by yourself. As far as names, I wish I had time to think about it and come up with something clever. The super close-up shot kind of makes him look like Toadzilla. But what if he is a she?
Are you teaching The Son how to race it?
ohhhh, is this toad for (editor deleted) I wish I could be there. I would love to cheer on Toady McGuire or Fog Fog. And now I really want a huge corn dog and a lemonaid.
Sorry but I have to delete some comment details, per the hubby. I think he looks like the hypno toad on futurama. He ate a firefly and a spider I caught already. Oh, and FYI, yes I am and always have been a girly girl, but NEVER afraid to catch toads, snakes, and bugs. So while I LOVE having a boy, I would have caught Fog Fog anyway. Back me up Grammy! And I think you all should come to my house for corn dogs and lemonade.
duh, sorry I wasn’t cryptic enough. I am moving next week or we would probably make the trip, oh well. Once again sorry for messing things up
No worries Cat. I have to go back and edit myself all the time for using real names and places. I knew you were moving this month, do like the new place? Send me new address. Oh and whatever happened with MGs teacher?
As for Toady McGuire Fog Fog Huckablog, he is currently residing in an old fish tank that is resplendent with fresh foliage The Son and I picked, dirt, pebbles and a big water dish. He is on the bar in the kitchen right next to Sushi IV. I think they are plotting their escape. They are both under those pendant lights, so I think he will be okay, but he will be released as soon as he has done his job (like Santa’s little Helper?) ((remember that episode where he got a credit card in the name of Santos L. Halper. I must go pull up that episode RIGHT NOW))
oh you can see firefly in first picture. If I took his pic now you would see firefly shaped toad poop in its place.
When is said (or unsaid) event with lemonade and corn dogs? I’ve only missed one since the sophie year in college (when introduced to it by Hey You). I rather enjoy it. Might have to make a little side trip. Though, if it is this weekend, I’m out, because I’m going to Mempho to get a new guitar…YEA!!! And Cat, I’ve actually learned how to hold it correctly now…and play more than a few chords.
Elwood (meaning from the old forest)
Wartun (meaning from the farm…plus frogs have warts)
iPad
Leapster
Officially giving up on naming Toady Fog Fog Huckablog.
If Shoeshe plans on coming, lets introduce her to Justin.
update: he is still alive, and the name Toady McGuire Fog Fog seems to have stuck.
I rather like Whatever You Are Handling This.
That, or Aloysius de Farmington Smythe, of course.
