Eeh, for a minute as I read your post though, I thought you were going to tell us that you made an outfit just like your’s for thehusband, aka son1, when he was small. Lol, the very thought of that causes me to chuckle. I’m certain his look would have been one even more humorous than the one when shot in the Humpty Dumpty costume. Ha!

My memorable outfit was one of white pique with red, yellow and blue smocking. It was worn with several petticoat and lacy white socks with black patent leather mary janes. I remember wearing it to church and singing with the other children up front. When I got embarassed, I raised up my skirt and hid my face!

Okay…for the record, this is Gigi and also for the record, no offense taken. Thanks for the compliment regarding the making of it, and a disclaimer: HeyYou helped design the duck and the collar (both of which I love too).

Oh, ShoeShe…another thing. Isn’t it funny how we all have one of those too-cute-for-me outfits and how many of us repeat the effort (or offense, depending on your perspective) with our own children?

For me, it was a lovely little yellow dress with white ruffled pinafore, white gloves, white ruffled-lace sock, a little white purse and a little white hat with ribbon ties. Mind you, this was 1960 or 61, so we did Easter all out in those days. If you didn’t wear gloves and a hat on Easter, you were NOT dressed! My mother made it, so I attribute any talent I have to her. Anyway, it was the first color photograph I appeared in and I fell in love with that dress. Unfortunately, she gave it away within the year and I never got to see it “up close and personal”. Now, my 2 bros were in the photo as well, suit jackets and ties and they didn’t look at all happy (and not nearly as cute as me, I must say). Oh well, it’s all perspective isn’t it?

Now, to TheNeighbor–as you can see, there was only one gorgeous child to view. Had there been two, well, my comments would definitely have been different. Now….how about one of the two of them, HeyYou??

Wait until the smocked dogs are finished and posted!! (I have a needle and thread and I’m not afraid to use them.)

Of course he’s cute, and yes the pictures will most definitely come back to haunt him as blackmail when he’s a teenager….I wish that I had been there, but then again…my allergies are glad I wasn’t

OH, it was made, well that does make a difference. I am impressed then, seeing how I can barely sew a pillow. Okay, I approve he is very cute in it then. (I was joking above anyway, he was very cute, am very jealous no one ever made cute outfit for my boys, one grandma couldn't sew if her life depended on it, the other can, but has a tendency (like me) to start things, and kind of forget about them)

That would be WG for the ball bouncing incident. He also shaved part of his hair off so he had to have it all shaved off. Was a very sad day.

It’s kinda like those nude baby pics. Everyone has outfits when they are small children that when looked back on years later, they think…what was I wearing? For me it was a TickleMe outfit with bright blue tight leggings and a matching bright blue swing shirt with a white poofy poodle (3-D even) wearing a red leash. To top it all off, I wore it with red Keds, and mis-matched slouch socks. We all did it. I think boys always have duck outfits as children. I think they’re cute. My little bro hates the pictures of him as a 3-year old wearing red plaid pants with a navy sweater with a big bright yellow duck adorning the front. The back of the sweater even had a duck’s tail end. He was sooooooo cute in it…but back to my original statement. Nobody likes the clothes their parents dressed them in when they were small children. But…every parent dresses them in the “most adorable” outfits for small children. When we grow up and look back and can’t imagine why we’re wearing what we’re wearing, we are doing it through colored (and often jaded) lenses. So…as for me…he is adorable…TheSon…that is. MyBro is pretty cute too, ya know, so I had to distinguish. By the way…MyBro has straight A’s in college, and is going to law school on a scholarship. So…guys who dress in dorky outfits as children turn out to be brilliant young men! Just saying.

Cat, which child was doing that? Oh, and I like the collar. Although, I agree that it is not everyday appropriate. His Gigi made that whole outfit for him.
