I’m just mad about Saffron.
March 11th, 2008

Saffron’s mad about me
I’m just mad about Saffron
He’s just mad about me

They call me mellow yellow
They call me mellow yellow
They call me mellow yellow

So mellow, he’s so yellow, Quite rightly.
Today’s post brought to you by Donovan, and probably copious amounts of narcotics he was smoking.

Amazing pictures! You have a great eye!
I’m suddenly thinking of Gap khakis and white button-up shirts (in reference to the commercial that used the “mellow yellow” song a few years ago).
Unreleated…I need a mom’s answer to this difficult question: Do you know the lyrics to the song, “Rise and Shine”…the one with “arky, arky” in it? Okay…me too. But, would it be appropriate to sing the verse that says, “The animals, they came off, they came off in threesies, threesies…they had learned their birds and beesies beesies…” with 1st-5th graders? Be honest.
I sing it that way to the son.
I agree with Hey You about the song, just don’t do any pelvic thrusts.
Cute pics, TheSon just gets cuter and cuter ..Is that how you spell cuter?
I don’t think cuter is a word…at least not one recognized by copy editors.
I think it would be fine for 1st - 5th graders to start getting a basic understanding of reproduction. In fact, I think both of my children watched the Nova program on giving birth during this age and we had discussions of where babies come from. Eh, of course, this could explain some things too! Hehehe! I may have scarred them for life.
Fine, well he looks ever more cute every time I see him. Okay, that just sounds wierd
Do you mean “weird”? Just kidding. My job has me trained to find spelling, syntax and grammatical errors. Sorry.
‘Cuter’ is absolutely a word.
Okay, so cuter is a word…it just sounds dumb. I don’t like it. I prefer…fabulously cute, amazingly cute, etc. I like descriptive words for HOW cute…not simply “cuter”.
notice Hey You staying out of the grammar argument.
The idea of me in a grammar argument is quite funny. English….not my best subject. But I defend cuter. How else would you say , “Well that puppy is cute, but mine is cuter.” ?????
Okay, I am sorry no more grammar talk.
Like this…Your puppy is cute, but mine is precious!!!
No, I disagree with this ShoeShe. Precious is a poor choice of adjective to describe cuteness. A precious dog, or kid, is not necessarily cute. In fact, a precious dog could be butt ugly. Try again.
One more… ShoeShe does cutest bother you? Like that dog is cute, the dog before it is cuter, but mine is the cutest. They are both words and I don’t know what you would use in their place.
Fine…your dogs are precious, but mine is absolutely, positively adorable, and is quite possibly the cutest puppy in the entire world!!! Further, I often call children and puppies precious to describe both sweet and cute. If I thought a kid (or dog) was ugly, then I would most definitely say, “Bless his little heart. Isn’t he just darlin’!” I wouldn’t say “precious,” because I wouldn’t want the mother to get confused and think her kid was cute. I know all moms think their kids are cute, but come on…I’ve seen some really ugly babies. There’s one “BARFUM” kid that looked like a 70-year-old man right when he came out. All you could say was “Bless his little heart,” because he was U-G-L-Y…ug…ly!
But…my dog is still precious. He’s just a combination of sweet, cute, adorable, funny, full of personality, kind, gentle, friendly, nice to strangers, loving around children, kissable, calm (but excitable), perfect (or as close to it as one could possibly be) and MINE! He is special. MyPup was a rescue…and for a rescue to have all of the aforementioned traits must mean that his mother (ShoeShe) has most of them as well.
That was meant to be slightly humorous.
Furthermore…I know all of your dogs (Cat, Hey You, Grammy), and they are adorable too. They are cute. I love all dogs, but MyPup is MyPup, and I happen to be partial to MyPup.
It seems that Webster would agree that “precious” and cute” are two birds from the same tree. Note especially number 2 on “cute” and number 4 on precious. Sorry for the language lesson, but I felt I had to defend my position on “cute”/”precious”.
